7/9/2023 0 Comments What is automator on macAppleScript is basically a “glue” language, in that it sticks various things together, such as ruby, python, bash, macOS apps, automator actions, SQL, finder filesystem actions and more. For example, exporting images from an image editor, then converting that output into several different formats and placing that all into a directory, then uploading that to an FTP server. ![]() This is relatively simple, but you can do more complex things with it involving getting the output of various scripts and applications and stringing them together into some sort of final output. For example, if you wanted a shortcut to open reddit in safari, you could do: tell application “Safari” ![]() Apologies for such a late response lol, but applescript is very different from bash in that it can communicate messages in between apps and, i believe, between macs on the same network.
